Wilhite - Florida Gray Enoch

Mrs. Florida Wilhite, age 64 years, died Sunday night from a stroke of apoplexy at the home of her brother-in-law, E.F. Wilhite, residing three miles south of this city on the Greencastle road. She had been in the best of health during the evening and had even walked to the home of a neighbor and visited until about 9 o'clock. She was evidently stricken during the night, for when found this morning she was dead, and had been so for some hours. The deceased was born in Morgan county, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Gray. She came to this county when a young girl of about seventeen years, and resided with her family on a farm north of here. She was married to Tillman Enoch, a traveling salesman, and made her home around different places over the country during his lifetime, and some years after his death she was united in marriage to Mr. Wilhite. He preceded her in death nine years ago. She was a life-long and faithful member of the Christian church. Mrs. Wilhite is survived by one brother, Sturgeon Gray, who was living with her at the time of her death, and four sisters, Mrs. America Casad of this city; Mrs. Caroline Trout of Chicago; Mrs. Louisiana Nolan of Francesville, and Mrs. Indiana Overton of Los Angelas, California. The funeral services were held from the home on Thursday morning at 10 o'clock; interment was made at Oak Hill. She was the born Jun 1849 and was the daughter of Robert and Mahala Gray. She is survived by four sisters, Indiana Overton, Los Angeles, Calif.; Louisana Nolan, Francesville, Ind.; Carolina Trout, Chicago, Ill.; and America Casad of this city, and one brother, Robert Sturgeon Gray, of this city. - trasnscribed by Kim H
